WOMAN SUSPECTS IDENTITY THEFT
On Aug. 21 at 12:30 p.m., police were contacted by a 57-year-old woman on a call of a identity theft. The woman told police that a fraudulent transaction had appeared on her Visa debit card from an unknown retailer. the woman said she did not remember making such a transaction. The woman told police that the card had never left her possession and was not sure how someone could have gotten to it. Police discovered that the woman's daughter had purchased a Web site domain with the card and the withdrawal was an annual renewal charge for the site.
MAN PRAYS IN PARK
On Aug. 22 at 10:10 p.m., a Wheat Ridge police officer located a unoccupied white Kia sedan parked in the south lot of Anderson Park at the 4300 block of Pearl St. As the officer approached the vehicle, he noticed a man sitting on the ground. The man told the officer that he was distraught over a woman and stopped to pray in the park. Officers reported that the man was visibly crying and shaking. The man apologized to officers for the late use of the park. Officers wrote the man a criminal summons for an hours violation before allowing him to leave the park.
FLAT SCREEN T.V. STOLEN
On Aug. 25 at 5 p.m., officers were called on an a report of stolen property on the 300 block of Youngfield St. The reporting party told the police that sometime the night before, someone had broken in and stolen their flat screen T.V., valued at $600. Police had no suspects at the time of the report.
ATV STOLEN OFF OF TRAILER
On Aug. 23 at 4:05 a.m., officers responded to a report of motor vehicle theft at the Interstate Inn located at 4375 Kipling St. A man told police that someone stole his ATV from the trailer on the back of his vehicle. The man told police that there were five suspicious men carrying boxes with rope standing near his trailer earlier that day, but he could not provide a description of the suspects. Officers attempted to locate the ATV but were unsuccessful.
MAN HARASSED BY CALLS
On Aug. 24 at 7:58 a.m., police responded to a report of phone harassment. A man told police he met a woman in a bar and was receiving harassing phone calls from her. Police contacted the woman and warned her against calling the man again.
