The Wheat Ridge Recreation Center, located at 4005 Kipling St., will be closed for annual maintenance the week of August 18 through 22. While the Recreation Center gets a deep clean, the city has arranged for alternative classes and workout sites to be available for recreation center patrons while the center is closed. Please note that the recreation center lap pool will be closed until August 29 in order for the city to complete necessary repairs.
The Golden Recreation Center will be accessible to recreation center patrons who are annual pass holders and Silver Sneakers card holders for no admission fee. Wheat Ridge Recreation Center annual pass holders and Silver Sneakers card holders must present their Wheat Ridge Recreation Center identification card for free admission. The Golden Recreation Center is located at 1470 10th St., Golden.
The hours of operation are as follows:
Monday - Thursday 5:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Friday 5:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Saturday 7:00 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Sunday 8:00 a.m. - 6 p.m.
For more information about the Golden Recreation Center, please contact 303-384-8100.
The newly renovated outdoor pool will be accessible to lap swimmers during the lap pool closure. The outdoor pool is located in Anderson Park at 4355 Field St. The Pool is open from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The Wheat Ridge Senior/Community Center, located 6363 W. 35th Ave., will play host to a variety of classes including Silver Sneakers I and Yoga Stretch. Class times differ from the regular recreation center schedule. Patrons should be advised to call and get current class time information before attending a class.
While the recreation center is closed for maintenance, citizens can complete fall registration for classes at the center between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
For more information about the annual maintenance closure, please call the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center at 303-231-1300. For more information about classes that will be held at the Senior/Community Center and class times during the Recreation Center closure, please call 303-205-7500.
