The Jefferson County Planning & Zoning Division updated its Non-Residential Vacancy Inventory by adding vacant properties located in the unincorporated north plains areas of the county. In November 2006, the county launched this one-of-a-kind database that allows users to search for information on permitted land use activities, location, size, water and sanitation services, tax information, and how long the property will take to develop based on county development review procedures.
The Non-Residential Vacancy Inventory contains information on properties that are larger than 10,000 square feet in size - there are 51 such properties in North Jeffco. Once online at the Planning & Zoning homepage (
www.jeffco.us/planning), you can search these properties in one of two ways - by geographic location or by land use description.
The mountain areas of the county are expected to be added to the database in late August 2007. Future plans include the possibility to search properties with non-residential buildings on them, in addition to vacant land searches.
