This election, Wheat Ridge District One voters have an opportunity to support an amazing candidate for City Council, George Pond. An experienced candidate, Pond not only has the knowledge necessary to manage revitalization in Wheat Ridge, he also has the skills to manage the process fairly as a concerned representative of the community.
As the Vice President for Capital Projects at Denver Zoo, George Pond has managed numerous complicated projects to successful completion, including the award-winning Predator Ridge exhibit. I have witnessed first-hand, his expertise in leading the development of expansive projects, meeting the demands of multiple departments, while cooperatively working with numerous entities with vested interests, including the City and County of Denver. With master's degrees in both architecture and landscape architecture, and vast planning experience, George has valuable expertise that is ideal for City Council.
Perhaps more important than his technical abilities is George's commitment to Wheat Ridge and the support he will give his district as a City Council member. George possesses the communication skills needed to work toward consensus building on council. An active citizen, George is also dedicated to the public process and will serve District One fairly as a representative of his community. Like me, George moved to Wheat Ridge to raise his family. He has a vested interest in ensuring Wheat Ridge's vitality for years to come, while maintaining the city's small town appeal.
When you receive your election ballot in the upcoming weeks, I urge you to vote for George Pond for Wheat Ridge City Council. It is a vote that will serve our city well.
