Do you enjoy helping people?
Are you interested in the Criminal Justice System?
Here is a chance to make a difference in your community! Become a Volunteer Victim Advocate!
Victim Outreach Information (VOI) offers opportunities to work directly on scene with crime victims, offering support and access to resources during a critical stage of trauma.
Volunteer Victim Advocates work closely with law enforcement and the court system to ensure victims' rights are upheld and needs are met.
VOI was established in 1986 and serves victims of crime in Wheat Ridge, Edgewater, Golden, Mountain View, Lakeside and the Colorado School of Mines in Jefferson County. These crimes include, but are not limited to, homicide, sexual assault, assault, child abuse, domestic violence related crimes, robbery, kidnapping, elder abuse, hate crimes, burglary, gang violence, and vehicular homicide.
The application process is selective and applicants must be at least 21 years of age, submit to a background check, and attend a 40-hour training. No experience necessary. Applications are being accepted for theFall training that
