A Christmas thank you from the WR Optimists

A Christmas Thank You

The true spirit of Christmas was evident this as the Wheat Ridge Optimists met to assemble goodies for needy children in the Wheat Ridge area. Again this year, the members of the Optimist Club provided 186 children in65 families with food, clothing certificates, school supplies and gifts.

This huge undertaking could not have been accomplished without the generosity of many Wheat Ridge residents and businesses. Many thanks to the donors, volunteers, spouses, neighbors, friends and especially to the coaches and players of the Wheat Ridge High School Baseball team who came out to assist in the wrapping and delivery to the needy families. A big thanks to the employees of the city of Wheat Ridge and the members of the Wheat Ridge Fire Department who donated$2,500 dollars in gifts and clothes.

This has truly become a community project!!! Know in your heart that these children woke up to a nicer Christmas morning and will know that the people in the Wheat Ridge community care.

The Wheat Ridge Optimist Club meets every Wednesday Morning at 7 a.m. at Celebrations at West 39th Avenue and Kipling. If you would like to get involved in this or other club projects, pease contact Craig Lang, president, at 303-234-0406.

Yours Truly,

The Wheat Ridge Optimist Club
