This week, PCL Construction donated $20,000 to Colorado food banks, as part of a $140,000 initiative to support food and shelter nonprofits in the cities where PCL operates nationwide.
In Denver area, the $10,000 allocated will be split between 9Cares Colorado Shares food bank agencies and Project Angel Heart. In the Colorado Mountain Division, the $10,000 allocated will be divided among the Vail Valley Salvation Army Food Pantry, Family Intercultural Resource Center in Summit County and Lift Up Food Pantry in Garfield County.
"In the metro area and beyond, we're seeing an especially great need this year at local food banks," said Allen Ross, vice president and Denver district manager for PCL. "The state of our economy is causing more and more families hardship, and collectively, PCL employees felt that this issue was one we needed to respond to."
As part of their support of Colorado food banks, PCL Denver employees volunteered their time at the Denver Rescue Mission (DRM) last Monday, November 9. The annual trip to the DRM is part of PCL's annual Mile High United Way fundraiser kick-off.
