Hello,
Please be advised that if you live in Wheat Ridge along Wadsworth Blvd. (a block or two east and west of Wadsworth), there is an unsignedletter with no contact information being distributed on door steps. The letter is using scare tactics concerning the Wadsworth Corridor advisory document. The document will be reviewed by city council on Aug. 27 at City Hall at 7 p.m.
Once again there are false and inaccurate accusations in the letter that state property values are going to be decreased and eminent domain will be used on homes and businesses. These accusations are so far from the truth. The author is very misinformedabout the advisory document and the public processes involved.
The advisory Wadsworth Blvd. document passed Planning Commission 5-1 and will be heard by city council on the 27th. If it passes council, it will be forwarded to CDOT for a 12- to 18-month Environmental Assessment (EA), which will include design options and a "No Action" option. The advisory document shows three alternatives for Wadsworth Blvd. that CDOT would be able to review and use for their study.
CDOT will host the Environmental Assessment (EA) meetingswith the public and property owners much like the EA for Cabela's. The plan also shows low and medium density in the areas east and west of Wadsworth and does not call for a minimum density on future redevelopment. The City Charter, which is voter approved, allows up to 21 units/acre max in any development in the city. Please remember that all development or redevelopment projects are market driven.
Once again there are a lot of rumors out in the community and the black helicopters are in full swing. There areno plans, just guidelines until CDOT completes the public EA study and a plan is accepted by the city and CDOT.
