Wheat Ridge voters have overwhelmingly passed ballot measures 2A and 2B.
Earlier this year the Wheat Ridge 2020 Board of Directors adopted its first
resolution. This was a resolution to support ballot measures 2A and 2B in Wheat Ridge. 2A retained funds for parks and recreation which otherwise would have refunded $1.70 to each voter at a cost to the City. Retaining these funds puts our collective effort to good use for the betterment of the whole community. In addition, 2B exempts the City from revenue limits under TABOR in future years to invest in parks and rec, open space, capital improvements, infrastructure, police and basic services.
"The passing of Ref. 2A and 2B clearly demonstrates the citizen's support for sustainable community and economic development in Wheat Ridge. Wheat Ridge will be able to utilize these funds to foster development, provide enhanced public safety, park, and recreation facilities, and operate effective governmental services that will positively impact our community," said Rob Osborn, Executive Director of Wheat Ridge 2020. He continues, "Wheat Ridge 2020 is proud to have supported these initiatives and pleased that the citizens decided to fully support the City."
Wheat Ridge 2020 is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing Wheat Ridge as a vibrant and sustainable community.
