The Wheat Ridge Outdoor Pool, 4355 Field St. in Wheat Ridge, opened its waters for summer business June 21. Since then, a flood of area (and non-area) residents have been taking advantage of the warm sun and cool waves.
Aniesa Abeyta
, 8, of Wheat Ridge, laughed as she sat beneath a cascade of water at the pool's edge.
"It feels like I'm inside," Aniesa said as the water surrounded her.
The pool features shallow play areas for small children and families, water slides, spray spouts, lap swimming, a diving board and many other water-emitting gadgets and play stations.
For non-swimmers, lounge chairs and lawn space is available to soak up summer rays.
Lauren Bowler
, 17, of Arvada, took advantage of the warm sun June 26 while her little sister played in the pool. Bowler often comes to the pool because her sister is on the swim team there.
The Anderson Park community pool has open swim from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. seven days a week and adult lap swim times starting at 6:30 a.m. Admission price for Wheat Ridge residents is $4 for adults, $3.50 for youth ages 6 to 17 and $3 for children 5 and younger. For more information, call 303-205-7591.
