Feeding Hungry Families for 17 years
Contributed by: Cheryl Brungardt on 9/19/2006

Wheat Ridge Grange SHARE site has been serving families in Wheat Ridge for over 17 yrs. One Saturday a month, a group of dedicated volunteers show up before the sun is up to drive to the warehouse in north Denver and get the food they will later sort and distribute to community members in need. Based at the Wheat Ridge Grange, the group also includes non Grangers as well. From toddler to seniors, the groups over the years have included school groups such as Key Clubs, Scout groups and church groups. They adopt families each holiday season to provide that extra meal for most, but a necessary meal for many living on the edge. For all they do for others, the Wheat Ridge Grange deserves a $1000 award to use to help more families in need, they truly rise above the rest to help those least able to assist themselves.
