Sts. Peter & Paul School Makes a Difference

In September of 2007 Saints Peter and Paul School launched their community service program called Dragons on the Move. "Dragons on the Move" is a unique way for our school to come together to serve the needs of our community. During the Fall many elderly and handicapped people need assistance with raking leaves, sweeping their driveways, and removing trash and branches from their yards. Volunteering students and parents are placed on teams to assist a predetermined list of needy community members.

This year we received the following letter from a very thankful 93 year old Wheat Ridge resident and we are proud to share it with you. For further information on our program please contact Sts. Peter & Paul School principal Kathy Byrnes at 303-424-0402.

Sts. Peter & Paul School Makes a Difference

The door bell rang! It was 8 am. I hesitated about answering the door as I was just about to take a bath. I looked out the window and saw about eight boys and girls, three adults, one being the assistant principal of the school, two mothers and one dad. All of them raking leaves, pulling out dead vines and cleaning the flower beds. They filled eight trash bags! I'm very glad and thankful I answered that door bell!

They made a difference in my 93 years and as they drove off to help other people they will make a difference in their lives and our community.

In Appreciation,

A Wheat Ridge resident of over 50 years
