i9 Flag Football Leagues Heading into the Stretch
Contributed by: Bill Stahl on 10/18/2006

With just a couple of weeks of regular-season play remaining, there are several tight races to determine the top seeds in the upcoming i9 Youth Sports Flag Football playoffs.

In Broomfield, there are two undefeated teams. The Vipers (B15), coached by Larry Queen, have had some close games, but have a one-game lead in the Tarkenton Division over both B17 and B18, who had an exciting 44-40 game on Oct. 14 won by B17. The Bengals (B7), coached by Chris Ruscher, lead by one game in the Namath Division over Randy Baker's B10 team. The Marino Division is the tightest race, with the Wildcats (B2) and Bulldogs (B1) tied at the top with the Sharks (B3) and B4 tied just a half-game behind.

The Lakewood league has had a couple of dominating teams. The Lightning (L4), coached by Kirk Jacob is 6-0 with a two-game lead ahead of the Rushing Rhinos (L2) in the Montana Division. Craig Ellis' Titans (L11) is also 6-0 with a two-game lead in the Unitas Division over the Eagles (L12). The closest race is in the Staubach Division, where the Lightning (L6), coached by Joel Wilder, has a one-game lead over L7 and is two games ahead of the Crushers (L5) and Falcons (L10).

All playoff games will be played on the weekend of Nov. 4-5. Following the games, there will be a fun party at the fields with awards for all participants and trophies for the top two teams in each division.

i9 Sports is redefining youth sports across the nation. i9 Sports believes that sports should be a fun, safe experience where children can learn basic athletic skills and sportsmanship, build friendships, and increase their self-esteem.

i9 Sports understands that parents' busy schedules requires a program that is well organized, convenient, and fits evenly within their family's plans so that their child's sport activity doesn't consume their life. Practices are conducted on game days to minimize the time parents need to spend driving to and from activities, not to mention saving at the gas pump. Schedules, standings, statistics, and other communications are available 24x7 online. Another favorite feature for parents is that there is absolutely no fundraising.

i9 Sports was founded in 1996, and conducted their first leagues in Jefferson and Broomfield Counties this past spring. Registration will open in December for Spring flag football leagues, as well as other sports programs like lacrosse. Please call 303-462-1520 or go to www.i9sports.com
