Welcome to the CU Grad Gab profile page. What is this, you ask? Every other week or so, you'll find a particular posting on my blog, A Lady's Lair, that's full of informative mini-columns from gals who have graduated from CU-Boulder. I'm YourHub.com blogger Brit Horvat and I love giving coverage to women doing cool things and many women who kicked off their future at CU are now kicking a$$ elsewhere - whether it be on the East Coast, across the globe or in Denver. So why not read up on what they're up to these days? And if you're a CU grad gal who is interested in contributing on your own, e-mail me at brithorvat@gmail.com

Scroll down for some awesome ladies.

Kalen Kaminski, who now lives in New York, New York, graduated from CU in 2006 with a degree in anthropology. She’s currently a personal assistant for a woman who is a trustee/board member on many nonprofits throughout the city. While managing this woman’s life, family and homes, Kaminski also is leading a women’s mentoring group for The Children’s Storefront and putting together a short documentary film on the changing face of 125 Street (Harlem). In her section, Raw Flicks, this gal promises to contribute updates/info on documentaries and random happenings around New York City. Random fact: She has an extra toe. E-mail her at kalenk02@gmail.com.

Alicia Riguzzi, who now lives in Vancouver, BC, Canada, graduated from CU in 2006 with a degree in psychology and a minor in communication. She’s currently working as an administrative assistant while doing what she does best: traveling and being free. In her section, Pants: Optional, she promises to write all about fashion and confidence – and how they connect. And if you haven’t already picked up on it – this skirt-lovin’ lady hates pants.

Michele Lingbeck, who now lives in Broomfield with her husband and two kids, graduated from CU in 1993 with a degree in history. “I know a lot about partying and football (CU grad, of course) but can’t imagine those topics need to be covered!” she says. After getting her master’s in education from CU-Denver, she taught middle and high school social studies for a few years before settling down as a stay-at-home mom. In her section, Escalade Escapades, you’ll find links to her fabulous blog at http://denver.yourhub.com/~michele that sparks great book discussions and reveals random tidbits from her life as a mom – which requires lots of carpooling. Oh, and just ’cause she’s a mommy doesn’t mean she can’t be a fantasy football fanatic! E-mail her at lingbeck@comcast.net.

Kaitlin Schroeder
, who is currently rockin’ it in Denver, graduated from CU in 2006 with a degree in fine arts/studio arts. While attending grad school at CU-Denver for educational psychology, she’s currently a British Primary intern at Steele Elementary with third-, fourth- and fifth-graders. In her section, Teaching Tales, she promises to share humorous and insightful highlights of the British teaching philosophy as she follows her path toward a teaching career. Random fact: “I might be the youngest person I know on blood thinners, as I still have a blood clot in my abdomen. It’s a great conversation starter with senior citizens,” she says.

She's currently a freelance copywriter, founder of www.happyhourboulder.com and a part-time ski instructor who, ya know, skis - A LOT.
