MAN ARRESTED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Littleton Police were sent to the 6800 block of South Bannock Street at 2:43 a.m. May 18 on a report of suspected domestic violence. Police spoke to a 41-year-old man in the apartment who had been sleeping on the couch and his 38-year-old wife who had been sleeping upstairs. The woman told the officers the couple had a fight, but it was only an argument. Police noticed the man smelled like alcohol and had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. As police were climbing back into their patrol car, they noticed the woman waving her arms trying to signal them through a sliding glass door while her husband raised his arms at her in a threatening manner. The police went back to the apartment and the woman told them her husband had hit her on her arm. Police arrested the man and when they tried to put him in the patrol car he swung away from the officer, hitting his chin on the patrol car causing a laceration. The officers took the man to Littleton Hospital for treatment. The man refused treatment for the injury, however he was held at the hospital due to a blood alcohol content of .18. As the officer was leaving the hospital, he noticed the man running from the lobby entrance. The officer chased the man and caught him on South Broadway, just north of the hospital. The officer escorted the man back to the hospital.
WITNESS ARRESTED
Littleton Police were sent to the scene of a motorcycle accident at 11:17 p.m. May 17 on the 2800 block of Bowles Avenue. An officer spoke to a 37-year-old witness who said he had been riding his motorcycle with a group of people when the accident occurred. The officer noticed the witness smelled like alcohol and had slurred speech and watery eyes. The officer asked the witness if he had been drinking and the man said "I've had a few." The officer asked the witness for his license and registration, and as the officer was walking to his patrol car, the witness ran away. Police chased the man down the Platte River trail and caught him a short time later. The man was arrested by Littleton Police.
