Blotter: It was a bow and arrow, not a gun

IT WAS A BOW AND ARROW, NOT A GUN
A Northglenn juvenile was arrested at 9:52 a.m. April 30 at the Northglenn Police Station on suspicion of reckless endangerment. Officers were dispatched to 11625 Community Center Drive, to investigate a suspicious incident of possible bullet holes in the side of the apartment. The juvenile said that he had shot arrows through the walls and had not fired a gun. He was issued a summons and released.

MAN HOLDS SIGN, IS ARRESTED
A 44-year-old Thornton man was arrested at 12:55 p.m. May 5 at the intersection of 104the Avenue and Interstate 25 on suspicion of soliciting. An officer witnessed the man holding a cardboard sign that read, "Down on my luck. Will do work, anything is a blessing. Thanks. I am hopeing this don`t happen to you. God bless. Need a prayer or food or work. Thanks. God bless you." The man was issued a summons and released.

FIRE STARTED IN SPERRY PARK
At 4:45 April 30, police responded to Sperry Park, 10600 Sperry St., on a report of a fence on fire. Upon arrival, officers on scene found the fence backing up to a home on the 10600 block of Upton Street to be on fire. The fire spanned approximately ten feet wide, and three to four feet tall. North Metro Fire Department arrived, and extinguished the fire before it endangered any buildings or homes in the area. The homeowner arrived, and provided the fire department with a hose to assist in putting the fire out. Officers checked with several small children in the area to see if anyone witnessed how the fire started. Two boys said they saw several kids running from the area, but did not see them start the fire. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate any suspects.

MAN ARRESTED FOR DUI
At 1:20 a.m. May 1, officers spotted a Ford truck weaving in the area of westbound 104 th Avenue and Huron Street. Upon speaking with the driver, officers believed the man to be drunk. The suspect submitted to a set of voluntary roadside maneuvers, which he failed to complete as a sober person. The man was released on a summons to a sober party.
