I don't go to very many concerts, more for financial considerations than for lack of desire. (Gotta pay the mortgage.)

But these past couple of weeks have been an exception.

I ventured to the Marquis Theatre on Jan. 17 to see Nashville band Red, and opening up for them was local band Random Hero, who made it far in the most recent competition for KBPI's Best Band in Denver.

Then a week later, I got a call from my ill sister, who was offering up free tickets at the Fillmore for her all-time favorite group - '80s metal band Queensryche, along with Don Dokken doing an acoustic set to open the show.

(Kids, if you have no idea who I'm talking about, ask your parents. And yes, parents, they are still touring.)

It got me to thinking that there has to be bands and venues in the area that would like to publicize their concerts.

Well, YourHub.com is the place to do it.

All you have to do is make the geographic connection.

If the venue is local, it works. If one of the members of the band is local(and please tell us if that's the case), then it works.

Just register on the site after going to http://denver.yourhub .com and post all the pertinent information-band's name, where its playing, including address.
We need to know the location, with address, time, cost, what the local connection is, and a phone number (or MySpace page) where people can go for more information.

This can be for any type of music, whether professional or amateur -just try to get the posting up two weeks in advance so we can consider it for our print calendar.
