Blog Entry 3 of 3 Can learning and reading be easier?
Hi! I’m Michael Como, Director of the LearningRx Training Center in Centennial. LearningRx learning centers provide cognitive skills training that empowers every child to learn faster and easier. Tutoring and other programs reinforce WHAT students must learn (information). LearningRx learning centers identify and strengthen the skills behind HOW students learn. We provide testing and life-changing training for students of all ages who desire to learn and read better for life. I will share stories and details on cognitive skills and brain training. I will also answer questions about LearningRx, cognitive skills, and brain training that are posed to me.

Teen does not give up anymore

As we approach Spring Break, I wanted to share another success story from a student who completed a brain training program at LearningRx.

Remember, it is never too late!!!!

This is from the student's parents. " Walker has had the biggest success in the area of his thinking. Let me give you an example. Ever since he was a little kid his approach to almost everything has been saturated with the "I can't" syndrome. The challenges of school have been saturated with the "I can't" syndrome. It's been years of struggle, struggle, struggle to get Walker to do homework or study anytihng. All of this has had an effect on his self-esteem. Guess what? I see something happening in Walker. He doesn't start anything with the "I can't" approach anymore. He is learning about his own brain and how it works and that it actually does work.

Today he said to me, "I actually did a super hard algebra problem on the board, it was a long one, and I got it right! All the guys started clapping and calling out "Way to go Walker!" It was such a totally cool feeling," he said. I think he was successful because he didn't shutdown and give up (the old Walker) but he said to himself, " Ok, don't give up, let me try." This is the new Walker and he did it!

Biggest improvement's from Walker:
Getting A's and B's (last year got C's, D's, and F's)
Calmer at school and does not get in trouble anymore
Note taking is better and notes are easier to understand later
Better at remembering to do stuff
Spanish class is easier to understand and follow.

Walker went through a three month training program and saw some pretty amazing results! We offer programs from 3 to 8 months, depending on the student's needs. For more information on LearningRx, go to www.learningrx.com or call me at 720-529-0780. It all starts with a cognitive skills assessment.

Have a great Spring Break!!!!!
