Life in the Second Half
At the older end of the Baby Boomer Generation, I've retired from the first half of my life. "Retirement" is a deceptive word, I have discovered, so my blog will include my adventures and discoveries about myself and life as someone not so young anymore. As a wife, mother, grandmother, reader, writer and other identities that will crop up over time, I hope others will enjoy reading my thoughts and share their thoughts with me as well. I guess I could add "blogger" to the identity list now!

A Blogging Identity
Contributed by: Mary Oliver   on 4/18/2008

I've spent over an hour now setting up this new blog. After reading some blogs, figuring out my password, completing the profile and writing my bio, composing a title and writing a description of the blog--now I'm writing the first entry. I have to say it will be a short one! My husband just got home, so we have to do a crossword and then prepare dinner. Not very exciting, is it? Trust me, I'm not given to short bits of writing usually.
As for a picture--it may be a while before I find one that passes my critique. Is that really me now? It's always a shock when I look in the mirror nowadays.
