Blog Entry 22 of 22 Changing My Thinking
I know how to eat healthy, but often make unhealthy choices. And, exercise... what's that? I sporatically exercise and make attempts at eating healthy. That's better than nothing, right? It's a beginning.

No milk at King Soopers
Contributed by: Julie Robinson   on 12/22/2006

We, okay my husband Mike, dug us out and we and all the rest of Castle Rock went shopping. We passed cars that had been stuck to which snowplows had added additional snow and I felt bad for the people who would be having to dig them out.

We arrived at King Soopers about 1:30 PM after they had already sold out of all milk, eggs, and much of the poultry section. So, I bought chicken with bones in it and remembered when all chicken came that way before they started selling it boneless. Since I didn't go into the dairy section myself but had only heard from my husband that they were all out of milk, I asked him if they had whole milk or skim. He said they were out of all the milk. Oh, it's kind of like when the electricity is out and you still try to flip that lightswitch... We came home with powdered milk, just in case.

We generally stock up on those 10 for 10 sales at King Soopers and had spaghetti with meat sauce during the blizzard with $1.00 spaghetti noodles, $1.00 hamburger, and $1.00 can of sauce. We fed 6 people on that with hamburger buns I turned into garlic bread with no complaints from the snowed-in folk.
