Approximately 35 local artists took up the challenge to create a variety of exciting works done on the theme of water or glass for the Lakewood Arts Council'scurrent show called "Crystal Clear". The result is approximately 80 pieces that shine and sparkle, filling the exhibit space with everything from colorful marbles to rushing water done in oils, pastels, watercolors, photographs and shimmering stained glass.
Top prize went to Evergreen artist Janet Rundquist Quinn for her oil, aptly titled "Grasses and Water". Second place was won by Denver artist Nancy Raskin for her soft pastel called "Autumn Lilies". Additional merit awards went to Lakewood artist Susan Gordon for her watercolor "Joy II", to Littleton artist Stephen Blecher for his undulating photograph "Libraryland Too", to Arvada artist Scott Nakauchi-Hawn for his highly creative acrylic titled "Still Got All My Marbles" and to Westminster artist Gary Wilkinson for his large stained glass hanging "Viking Moon".
