Representative Gwyn Green is the Representative for House District 23 and is a member of the Health and Human Services Committee and the Transportation & Energy Committee. In the 2007 legislative session, Rep. Green worked hard to improve public safety and consumer protection. She sponsored a bill to have courts evaluate sexual offenders to determine if they are a danger to the community, and another to increase the funding for crime victims’ services, including uncovered medical and funereal expenses. She sponsored a bill to protect the Campaign Fair Practice Act, and another to protect consumers purchasing hearing aids. Throughout the session, Rep. Foreclosure counselors will be present for those seeking assistance.

FACTS ON FORECLOSURES:
  • In the first 9 months of this year, there were almost as many foreclosed homes as there were during all of 2006.
  • Foreclosed homes sold at auction have increased 102% since 2003.
  • There were 93% more foreclosures in 2006 than in 2003.
