Thank you to West Metro Firefighters
Contributed by: Senator Betty Boyd   on 8/8/2008

Thank you to the courageous women and men in the West Metro Fire Department and to the firefighters from surrounding districts who sent firefighters to help us. These people risked their lives to keep our neighbors and their property from harm's way.

Because it covered so much ground, I had seen the latest fire from my office in the State Capitol .When I went totalk to people at the scene, I found many people shaken, many people upset, and even more people fighting the fire near their own homes and their neighbors' homes. These brave citizens are also to be commended for keeping their neighbors safe.

Through that cooperation, these people turned what could have been a tragedy into a triumph.
