Blog Entry 108 of 108 Charmaine in the city

I've called the Denver area home for more than two
decades now. But this urban/mountain city is still full of surprises. I'll be posting my adventures here, as I explore local eateries, shops and sharing birthday and vacation photos. And once in a while, I'll throw in a music, movie or food review. I hope to keep this blog interactive, so don't be shy to suggest places I should visit. And check it out: I'm on Brendan's List. Rock on!

Doing the Earth and the body good

I'm a firm believer in public transportation. I take the light rail every day to work and back, and when I was in better shape, I rode my bike to the office, too.

So when the annual Bike to Work Day comes around, I just see it as another day for my regular commute. The added perk is the wonderful breakfast stations around the metro area that will be available for participants. Now, if the city did that for commuters like me on a daily basis, I'll be set.

If you didn't know, June is Bike Month here in Colorado. And every year during the fourth week of June, the city of Denver and the area suburbs host Bike to Work Day. It is a time for people who commute either to downtown or to DTC to think of alternative ways to get there. This may include biking, walking, rollerblading, taking the bus and/or train or even skateboarding.
