Rock/country crooner Chris Isaak took the stage during the Lyons Folks Festival Aug. 19 and delivered a suprisingly rockin' and sometimes unrehearsed performance.
"I want to thank you all for showing up for the show, ... in a field," cracked Isaak, a sometimes movie and television star and writer of hit songs such as
Don't Want to Fall in Love
,
Wicked Game
and
Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing
.
"I kind of dressed down," he told the crowd. "This is the outfit with less sequins."
Isaak jumped out into the crowd early in the set to croon for girls young and old alike, in a move that seemed to set the stage for a more personal performance for a band that has spent more than 20 years together, getting their first break opening for Roy Orbison.
More photos and stuff to come,

If you'd hate it, and you didn't go, why talk about it? I'd love to have gone, and hear that long, lonely note, when he's singing "No I......don't wanna fall in love". Especially under a starlit Colorado Summer night! Nuthin' better.

Yikes! Brian, methinks you have mistaken Isaak and Orbison for Crash Test Dummies!

Chris Isaak & Roy Orbison, the two most awful, grind on my nerves, fingernails on the chalk board voices ever. Praise Buddah!! that I did not attend this gosh awful event. I love the Bluez, Rock-n-Roll, K.Chesney style country, and jazz too. But folk? aaaaarrgh!!! They sing like that noise tarzan makes while swinging through the trees, but squeakier.
