Blog Entry 4 of 4 Musings from a mom, hippy, and natural health nut!
I love to write, probably just to hear myself talk. I like to think I am in charge of my life, but a peon in the universal scheme of things. My passion is to help others realize we are all connected in some way, and to teach people how to live in a way that is conducive to the health of the earth and every living thing in it, but still have fun!!! I may write about crazy moments where I laid down in the library and threw a fit right next to my two year old. Or I may write about how to do yoga, how to meditate, how to buy organically and locally. All sorts of stuff. So please join me down the primrose path we call life. I am sort of an enigma wrapped in a paper bag; one moment I may talk about health and the next about they great bottle of wine I had last night. Its all about balance folks!

The World is Not Flat!!

The other day I was sitting on my patio (probably drinking a glass of red wine), and I started thinking some random thoughts. Did you ever have one of those moments, where what I call "Spiritual Nuggets" just pop in? Those are always the best, those things that just come up, when you are living your daily life instead of spending eons in meditation waiting for the nuggets, beating yourself us because no nuggets are coming, wondering the whole time you are meditating if you are really meditating??

So I got to thinking about how the world is round. Sounds pretty elementary doesn't it? But have you really ever sat and though about it? I began to visualize myself as the Goddess looking at her creation Earth from several million light years away. I saw all the humans just hanging and dangling about and got a good chuckle out of that.

Then I came back into my body and realized how I might look from space, how I am not just standing on my feet upright, but hanging somewhere off the Earth at this very moment. It really made me feel small. It also made me think about how we are just truly energetic beings blending with all other matter, which is of course how we don't fall off the Earth and into space.

All of this is of course a metaphor for the fact that our whole lives are a reflection of our perceptions, and how we perceive ourselves to be standing on solid ground, upright, rooted to the Earth, when in reality, things are not always what they seem. We are always changing, our energy is always shifting, time is an illusion, there is nothing permanent in this life. If you are not happy with something in your life, just change your thoughts, your perceptions and those things will change. It is inevitable, is it not?
